Exploring Folded Books

Many handmade books are formed using folding techniques.

In this afternoon workshop we will learn to fold paper and experiment with these structures to make a number of delightful books.

Including one of concertina or accordion folds that tuck into a cover to form a book with no glue or stitching and a tiny ‘flutter’ or maze book made from a single A4 sheet of paper.

We will also make an ‘everlasting’ hard cover for concertina folded pages that can be replaced as they are used. We will use quality cartridge papers and a choice of beautiful papers–many handmade, in a variety of colours, textures and patterns–for the covers.

No experience is necessary.
